''F1 rocks"

even on the 22nd floor of the balcony at swiss hotel, the roaring of the F1 cars that whiz past the tracks was loud enough to blow my ear drums!
all thanks to my mom's bank, my family&I had the chance to experience the f1 atmosphere during the training session last friday(:

growing up in a family where I know my cherry QQ (China) from Mercedes ( Germany) to Ferrari and Lamborghini ( Italy), F1 is part of my general knowledge of cars! hahahs

on the news, fellow citizens complained about the inconvenience about the road closure and all. I believe that such inconvenience is temporal, considering fact that not any ordinary country is able to host such an event, moreover, I am honored that Singapore is able to do so. with a large number of celebrities, singers, reporters, fans, cameramen..etc flocking to our mainland for this event, it has definitely bring in a source of revenue. furthermore, it puts Singapore in the limelight for the world to see.
( 10million people world wide tuned in to watch the F1 'live' on sunday)

I cannot say how proud I am that Singapore has been the host for F1 for 2 years. not forgetting, how proud I am to be a Singaporean! *all smiles

and yes, F1 rocks*!

* to a certain extend(:

FYI

believe it or not,I've been feasting for the last 4 days.

details: saturday- had canadian 1-for1- pizza!

sunday- celebrated grandma's birthday ( I can never say no to fried rice, hor fan and to her birthday cake, kueh lapis!!!)

monday&tuesday- I had 5 meals each ( the all important breakfast, tea break 1, lunch, tea break 2 and dinner )

guilt gripped got a hold of my stomach and thighs, so I had to run on wednesday. with an upcoming wedding that I'm attending, which I'm going to wear a dress 1st time in 2009, it'd be an embarrassing affair if I were to be spotted with a 4 day bulging belly!

p.s stay tune to the pictures I'm going to upload on my cousin's wedding(:

stickers, care bear and pencil cases

with an array of pencil cases displayed in every student's table, I cant help but notice that the most popular pencil cases for primary5&6 students are, #1. myuk and the runner up, icon! I was jumping with glee ( on the inside of course) when I spotted a boy having a blue care bear plastic file!!!

teaching in the morning session, consisted of primary3-6, wasn't as challenging as I thought it'll be. I thank God for such 'angels' that were so well behaved when I relief-ed one of the better MT classes.

I'll leave you with a shocking information: I'm looking forward to checking out the primary school's bookshop! I saw really pretty, cute, those spongy, pressy type stickers in one of the primary3 class. I later found out that they only cost a DOLLAR! take that urban write, which stickers costing like $2.50 without popular card!

p.s I'll be at the bookshop during the time which has the least students! *cross my fingers

25 kids

I made a silent prayer when the teacher whose class was relief-ing told me over the phone that 1X 'suck your blood'. well they didn't literally did that but it was CLOSE.

25 HIGHLY ACTIVE kids. no joke. just 2h with them my throat went dry. I felt extremely guilty whenever I had to punish a kid and show my stern+strict face accompanied by punishment.

looking back on my day, just the thoughts of, a little boy innocently asking me whether 'night takers' really exist and eat children ( when I read to them a comprehension passage on 'night taker' who followed james and ate him); another boy came up to me and asked me to challenge and give him the hardest 3 times table. ( which I did! 3 x 13 =? and I enjoyed a very long moment of silence. HA) could send me laughing uncontrollably to myself.

no doubt my feet were tired from standing for 5h, throat dry from having to raise my voice but at the end of the day, the 'darnest' things they say and simply puts a smile on my face(:

a good night rest is all I need to face them again. *winks

tips from miss teo for a better behave class* (only tested on primary1)
1. telling students to put a finger on their lips when walking as a class to places
results? a quieter class
effectiveness? 93.8%* (results proven)

2. subtracting points from group
results? better behaved class
effectiveness? 85.6%* ( only applies within classroom)

faith

my mom used to tell me this story, a pastor told his church to bring items of faith the next sunday service. the following sunday, the people brought various items that represented their faith, one man brought along an umbrella as he had faith that it would rain.

faith? to me is trusting and believing in things we do not know and cannot see.

the things listed below are my faith 'items' that the various primary school I've called 3 weeks ago will call me up to ask me to relief.

1. my handphone has been switched on since monday ( they might call me early in the morning, 6+ to ask me to relief the morning session or 12+ in the afternoon to relief the afternoon session)

before I sleep:

2. I pack my bag ( pencil case, calculator.. basically items needed for relief teaching!)

3. also, I would think of what to wear to school to relief

p.s so if you NEED anyone to talk to or just need a listening ear, no matter what time of the day, my phone is switched on!

p.p.s so DONT hold back those calls or smses!(:

lotsa love,
andrina

HOLIDAY!!!

I don't know who's happier, my buttocks, myself or the people around me. (now that my exams are finally over)

during my 1 week study break, I've been sitting down for an average of 9h a day. the venue of my studying changes according to the position of the sun! morning, my brother's room as it's the brightest, followed by living room and finally my bedroom at night! sitting down for such a long period of time kinda helped me developed a phobia for sitting down! by the end of the day, I would be lying on my tummy! ( due to the my sore buttocks!)

I can't be happier when I my last paper was done! especially when my best girlfriends and I headed off to orchard ion!!! my 1st time on the 27th August. we bumped into Dick Lee when were sipping coffee at Starbucks, passed by Gurmit Singh and his family outside a restaurant. guess we couldn't help attract stars where ever we go! *giggles

I have plans to catch up with all my friends, going on a HOLIDAY with my family to Thailand

this promising month long holiday is sure going to be fruitful, eventful and happening!!!

p.s I'd be MORE than happy to hangout/go on a date with you so book me! hahahahhahs
and not forgetting, earning money for a new oven. how? by doing relief teaching at primary schools!!!
