celloI've traded my pair of running shoes for a bow and cello.
yes, I'm currently learning how to play the cello in TP's Chinese orchestra! my first lesson started today and the 1st hour was spent learning how to hold the bow properly, this caused my fingers to cramp, especially my thumb was immobilized for a minute!
pauline: andrina! you're playing the wrong string!
me: oh oops! again? sorry! I'll try to play the CORRECT one!
it was kinda embarrassing, being told that many times that I was playing the wrong string! and kinda scary when the teacher used a bow to correct our posture and very intimidating when he reaches for my scrawny fingers with the bow to correct my fingering!
at the end of 3h, I've learnt how to play A,B,C,D,E,F,G plus a few sharps! the teacher even complimented us, 3 girls that we are fast learners! not bad huh. *toast to an enjoyable time of learning to play the cello!

childhood memorieson the journey home from church yesterday left me laughing with tears. had a recall of my childhood days! here's a list of what my brother and I when we were below 12:
- scatter biscuits crumbs, peanut butter cornflakes and slices of oranges at the balcony early in the morning. hoping that birds will stop by to snack! despite hiding secretly+very quietly in a corner, no birdies came:(
- played LEGO; we each built houses on our various platform( me always getting the bigger one cos I was the eldest!) and 'visited' one another with gifts made from LEGO scraps.
- 'canning day' for our stuff toys who we deemed 'misbehaved' and 'bullied' the others.
- 'election day' all our teddy bears would gather together to elect a new president amongst themselves when we felt that one is ruling too long.
- played snakes&ladders 'our way' snakes were ladders and ladders were snakes!
those were the days when I shared a room with my little brother. then, the room was multi-colored, slept on a double decker bed and had a cupboard filled with toys.
now? I was more than happy to be kicked out and have my own 'princess' inspired room, basic colors consisting of pink and purple. hahahs. squabbling was part of our daily communication and having separate room did not stop my brother and I from 'irritating' each other once in awhile(:

doughnuts galore!I've been stuffing myself with doughnuts for the past 3days!
shocking? yes. I know that its fried, calories loaded,sugar and it screams fattening! even if it were to contain 1kg of fat, I'd still eat them! hahahas.
as a food motivated girl, my list of favourite food are, hor fan, fried rice, roti prata, yong tao fu, sashimi, ramen, instant noodles, skipping to desserts first up, cakes! they are chocolate, tiramisu, sponge,butter, yogurt,cheese practically all cakes! others? well, muffins, waffles and tarts! laughs.
bet you didnt know that side of me. I am the happiest when I eat ice cream, especially ben&jerry! what's my favourite flavour? eat that with me and you'll know!( I have lots of favourite flavours)
my favourite doughnut store? am torn between doughnut factory and empire doughnuts. as for now, I'll fast doughnuts for the following months(: hee.

I'm back!helloo everyone! what I've been up to the past month, ( in order) hiking at, school trip to China(Beijing and Tian Jin), last but not least, new semester as year2! with new classmates(:

have recently been watching america's next top model cycle 11&12, all time famous, gossip girl and not forgetting the big bang theory! *laughs. sorta stop watching free to air channels on tv!
firstly, antm(america's next top model, for short) has taught me that there's more to a pretty face in a modeling career. a good model has to be versatile,creative,spontaneous on constantly on her toes. basically, a pretty face can be 'dull or boring' after all if he or she doesnt have the substance or right attitude to life. and yes, beauty IS subjective! hahahas.
gossip girl? I can sum it up in 3 words, juicy,scandalous and worldly.
all laughs for the big bang theory. its about a group of geniuses who do not know how to talk to women. laughs. throwing scientific jargon and clueless gorgeous girls is their way of 'hooking up'.
if you wanna unwind, you can always try watching them and I am sure you'll be in for a good time(:
